If you use a computer mostly at home, I would recommend the All-in-One systems with a silicon-based system drive.

My preferred vendor for PC’s is Dell. They can help you configure the system you want and have a good support network. The price for a base system as of Jan 2020 is $750 and can be found here: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-desktop-computers/inspiron-24-5000-touch-all-in-one/spd/inspiron-24-5477-aio/namys4ch604s

An iMac is: $1,199.00 note: this is not an exact equivalent to the PC as Operating System updates are free and an Office-like suite of applications are included for free. Not to mention Time Machine which is also free and will provide complete backup security.

If you are considering a switch note that all your word docs and excel sheets can be opening by Pages and Sheets. Email can also be exported and imported into Mac mail. If you want to continue to use the Microsoft Suite all apps run on the Mac with the exception of Access.
